Introducing EDM Time Data Acquisition
Introducing EDM Time Data Acquisition (TDA), an intuitive easy-to-use software interface for acquiring, viewing, and recording raw time data received from the input channels of any of Spider front-end system. Designed to include essential and frequently used options, TDA features the settings and parameters on the home page to minimize the time required to setup and start the test. TDA can combine with Spider hardware systems to create high channel count systems with up to 512 channels of mixed inputs.
Although the interface is simple, TDA has powerful features such as raw time waveform recording, trigger based recording, and variable sampling rates to name a few. The three most used options, namely the sampling rate, Input channels and the record settings are all accessible on the home page with a single click.
Time History Recording with TDA
TDA also supports the Time History feature, which continuously streams and saves data directly onto the computer. Using the time history, static measurements and monitoring such as strain or temperature and raw time signals can be viewed for the entire duration of the test. Long duration static measurement tests typically require the user to view the historical data while the test is running. These tests can run for several hours to several weeks.
Time history not only exponentially increases the available recording time, it also provides the user with the ability to review any part of the data since the test began, like reviewing security camera footage. Time History allows the X axis of these signals to increase infinitely, resulting in a live view of the raw time signal for the entire duration of the test. Users can choose to view a smaller duration of live or historical data. The user can also simultaneously view both the time history view and the live view, which allows users to continue monitoring the most up-to-date status and observe trends in the data during the entire test.
TDA is optimized to be the perfect companion for Data Acquisition (DAQ) tests and includes a host of built-in elements to support a wide range of applications. TDA can sample at a wide range of frequencies such as 102.4 KHz for applications like audio recordings to <1 Hz for applications like strain and temperature monitoring. A combination of this wide range of variable sampling rates and time history view allows the user to build a high channel monitoring system with a combination of different sensors all while controlling these options with a minimal number of clicks. Built specifically for the DAQ market, this power packed light-weight tool is the ideal software solution for all your time data acquisition needs.
