MESA Shaker Testing on Dual 300 KN Shaker System

Multi-Exciter Single-Axis (MESA) vibration test control allows users to closely replicate real-world applications according to the complex and multi-DOF nature of real vibrations. MESA vibration testing is most commonly used with higher forces on each axis and with long vertical dimensional testing units. Crystal Instruments provides the highest quality and technologically advanced solutions for MESA vibration testing and recently provided comprehensive MESA testing on a dual 300 KN shaker system at an industrial environmental testing lab.

Shaker system configuration
The shaker system consisted of dual 300 kN shakers with three possible configuration types. Please note that the following photos are not from the tests but are generic photos of dual shaker systems in similar configurations.

MESA Vibration Testing

Push-pull X: for longitudinal testing of the long UUT.

Dual Axis Vibration Testing

Push-pull Y: for transverse direction testing of the UUT.

Multi-Axis Vibration Testing

Push-push Vertical Z: for vertical direction testing of the UUT.

Summary
The preceding test results indicate the efficacy of MESA vibration control for all configurations and for tests with higher upper frequency bands such as 2000 Hz.
