CoCo Hammer Impact Testing Plan in EDM Modal

The rugged and portable CoCo hardware allows users to perform convenient measurement recordings and analysis in the field. Field operations are extended with the integration of EDM Modal software to provide a seamless modal analysis procedure. The Modal Data Acquisition (MDA) function provided in CoCo hardware allows users to upload testing plans and 3D model geometry created in EDM Modal to acquire modal measurements. After a test is executed, users can transfer data back to their computer for post-processing and modal parameter extraction with EDM Modal.

The CoCo Testing Plan provides an overview of the measurement process and allows users to customize measurement entries. Combining this with a visual display of the test specimen model makes the entire workflow efficient, intuitive, and simple. An interactive user interface for testing gives users the flexibility to assign geometric DOFs and signal names to data files even during the middle of testing. Data files can then be transferred to a computer with just a few clicks for modal analysis performed by EDM Modal software. An illustration of the workflow is shown below.

A step-by-step process of the CoCo Modal Data Acquisition function and CoCo Testing Plan is described in the following article.
